Learn the traditional craft of broommaking while exploring the rich cultural history and significance of brooms within the Black American community. You’ll work with natural plant fibers, including pine needles and broomcorn (sorghum), while learning foundational weaving and broommaking techniques.

Workshop Details:

What to Expect:
🌿 Learn the History: Discover the plants, traditions, and cultural significance behind broommaking.
🧹 Make Your Own: Learn to weave Appalachian-style turkey wing and hawk tail brooms using pine needles.
Create & Take Home: Finish with 2–3 mini pine needle brooms and a traditional broomcorn whisk broom.
