Menstrual Cycles, Birth Control & Abortion
A deep dive into the bodies of people with uteruses

Join us at Bon Femmes for the first workshop in the Sex Ed series with Sexpectations, a Black and brown reproductive justice collective from Chicago. This session focuses on understanding the full menstrual cycle and unpacking the realities of birth control, emergency contraception, and abortion care.

📅 When: Thursday, January 22nd
⏰ Time: 6–8 PM
📍 Where: bon femmes studio, 4919 N Damen Ave
🎟️ Spots are limited, so grab your ticket early!

Many of us were taught that the menstrual cycle is just a few days of bleeding each month, leaving the rest of the cycle overlooked or misunderstood. At the same time, there’s a huge knowledge gap around birth control, what it actually is, how it works, and how it connects to reproductive health choices like emergency contraception and abortion.

In this fun, accessible, and informative conversation, we’ll break down the entire menstrual cycle, explore the history and current landscape of reproductive health tools, and discuss where we are today. Together, we’ll talk about why these resources matter, why access to them is essential, and how we can continue advocating for ourselves and our communities.

This workshop is about learning, unlearning, and empowering ourselves with knowledge, because understanding our bodies is a powerful act of care and resistance.
