The main reason most people have sex is because it feels good, so why is pleasure still so stigmatized? Why does the orgasm gap exist? Why does it feel uncomfortable or even scary to tell partners what feels good and what does not? In many heterosexual relationships, why is a man ejaculating often treated as “the end”? And why is masturbation for people with penises joked about, while masturbation for people with vulvas is rarely allowed into the conversation at all?
This workshop invites participants into an open, affirming, and shame-free conversation centered on pleasure. Together, we will explore what pleasure means to you, how stigma and social conditioning shape our experiences, and how to build a deeper understanding of pleasure both on your own and with a partner or partners.
This session is about reclaiming pleasure as valid, important, and worthy of discussion. Because pleasure is not frivolous. It is informative, empowering, and deeply connected to autonomy, communication, and care.
All registration fees will go directly to Sexpectations Chicago to help them continue their work teaching comprehensive sex education to Black and brown youth on Chicago South and West sides.
