For many of us, high school sex ed missed the mark. Instead of real information, we were shown scare-tactic images, warned that sex would lead to shame or disease, or given no education at all. The result? Confusion, fear, and stigmaādespite the fact that one in four adults will experience an STI at some point in their lifetime.
This workshop offers a grounded, stigma-free deep dive into STIs. Together, weāll talk honestly about what STIs actually are, how testing works, how to navigate disclosure with partners, and what it looks like to respond with care and respect when someone shares their status. Weāll also explore prevention and how to build safer, more compassionate conversations around sexual health.
This session is about replacing fear with knowledge, shame with understanding, and silence with confidence. Because informed, honest conversations are key to healthier relationships and collective care.
All registration fees will go directly to Sexpectations Chicago to help them continue their work teaching comprehensive sex education to Black and brown youth on Chicago South and West sides.Ā
